Peach + Cauliflower Baby Food Puree
This peach and cauliflower baby puree is sweet and creamy with a little jazziness from a pinch of freshly grated ginger!
It is not only a great puree for babies starting around 6-7 months of age, but it is also amazing for toddlers and kids as well. I spooned 2 batches of this puree into some reusable pouches for Ellie and Parker to enjoy as their afternoon snack. They had their pouches every afternoon for 4 days in a row, they just couldn’t get enough of this delicious combination!
When we eventually did ran out of the pouches, the girls were mad at me for suggesting that we have some cheese and crackers for a snack instead of their much-loved pouches. And when I say mad, I mean lying-on-the-floor-crying-at-me mad! It wasn’t pretty.
But I’m not going to complain about having to make a third batch of this amazing puree, because it is packed with nutrients galore!
Ingredients in this Puree
Cauliflower and peaches are full of fiber, vitamins A, C, E and K and a ton of antioxidants.
Cauliflower helps detoxification and promotes healthy liver function while peaches are known to help reduce the risk of cancer and high cholesterol.
Ginger is a wonderful spice to include in baby’s spice repertoire because it helps soothe upset tummies and promotes the elimination of internal gas! YAY for a natural gas remedy! <——– yes, we are proudly talking about ways to get rid of your baby’s gas.. it’s one of the many fun topics us parents are willing to talk about with just about anyone, anywhere at anytime.
And while we are on the topic of gas, the cauliflower in this recipe might be a little hard on some younger and immature digestive systems. I have found that the nutrients in the peaches and ginger balance out the cauliflower, but if you are serving this puree to your baby, be kind and only offer a small amount of the puree first to see if their digestive systems can handle the cauliflower power.
If so, then serve away. If not, then hold off on for a couple of weeks and then try again.
But be warned, this puree is so good you might have a meltdown on your hands when you run out of it!

Ingredients
- 1 cup cauliflower roughly chopped
- 2 cups peaches, fresh or frozen, pitted and chopped
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated ginger
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan with a steamer basket, bring 2 inches of water to a boil over medium high heat. Add the cauliflower into a steamer basket, cover, and cook for 7 minutes.
- Add the peaches into the steamer basket on top of the cauliflower, fresh or frozen, cover and cook for an additional 3 minutes. If using frozen peaches, you may need to steam for an additional 2-3 minutes or until thawed. Reserve steamer water. Let slightly cool.
- Transfer the cauliflower and peaches into a blender. Add in ginger. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes or until smooth, adding in 1/4 cup of reserved steamer water if your puree is too thick. I didn’t add any extra water into my puree, but all peaches have a different water content, so use extra water if needed.

Love your recipes & blog! Making baby foods for my third baby. She is almost 7 months. Do you peel the peaches or purée with the skin on?
If you have a high speed blender then you can leave them on. If you don’t, you may want to peel if the skin is on the tougher side. How is that for a non-answer;)
Thank you for reading!

Love your recipes!! 🙂 what other fruit alternative for peach?it’s hard to find peaches in our country. Thank you.
You could easily use apples, pears or even mangos in this recipe instead of the peaches.
Hope that helps,
Michele

Hi Michelle! Several of my relatives have questioned your unusual combinations LOL but my 7 month old daughter absolutely loves your recipes, and of course that’s what matters 🙂 I have a question in reference to this puree. If I were to substitute fresh ginger for powdered ginger, how much should I throw into the mix? Thanks in advance. I’m so glad I found your website! I can’t wait to create more food for my baby in the future using your recipes.
So glad you and your daughter are loving the recipes! People always thought what I served them was crazy, but it’s really just fun food that tastes great!
You could use 1/8-1/4 of dried ginger powder in this recipe.

Hey Michele,
We tried this yesterday. Both baby and me LOVED it! 🙂
I’d been looking to get cauliflower in his diet but had struggled before this combo… peach, who would have thought?
Cauliflower is so super healthy – really high in Vitamin C, K, and folate. It’s a shame it gets such a bad rep. We need more recipes like this to bring it into kids’ menus.
Thx
I am so glad you both loved it!
I will work on some more cauliflower recipes for you:) Thank you for the suggestion.

Could I use breastmilk instead of the steamed water? If it is too thick and needs more liquid?
Thank you in advance! 🙂
Absolutely! You can always add in breastmilk or formula when blending the purees.
Just made this. So easy and tastes amazing! Let’s see how he likes it, if not I can surely eat it myself hahaha
haha! This love! Hope you both enjoy it:)
Hello! What would you think about making a cauliflower raspberry purée? Does this seem like a good thing to substitute for the peach?
Yes! That sounds amazing! I would steam the cauliflower until tender and then add the raspberries at the very end for 1-3 minutes to soften them up (easier to get the seeds pureed). Let me know how it turns out.
Hello! We’ve loved every recipe we’ve made so far from your site! Could we use frozen cauliflower rice? We have several bags I need to use.
So glad you have loved all the recipes! I would be afraid that the cauliflower rice would fall through the steamer basket. But you could saute the cauliflower and peaches in a skillet with a little olive or avocado oil until tender (roughly 10 minutes). Then puree as normal.
Delicious!!!
So glad your little one liked this!
