Get the recipe: Superpower Green Baby Food Puree
Ingredients
- 3 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
- 1 cup packed spinach
- 1 avocado
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil. In a steamer basket, add in the broccoli, place basket over boiling water and cover. Steam for 10 minutes. Add in the spinach and steam for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Reserve steamer water.
- Transfer all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Add in avocado and puree for 1-2 minutes or until smooth, adding in liquid (reserved steamer water, water, breastmilk, formula or stock) in 1/4 cup increments if needed.
- Serve or freeze.

I wish this was a win, but was not for my daughter. I love the creaminess the avocado gives it but it seems to need some kind of seasoning. I know you suggested a few. Just seems too bland without anything.
Sorry your daughter wasn’t in to it. I just mixed this puree with some peach puree and put it into pouches for my kiddos and they devoured them. Maybe she needs a little sweet to balance it out the greens:)
I’m making this for baby boy 7mo (eats anything) and I’m going to double the batch to make half with peach purée for squooshi pouches for my 4yo (super picky eater)! Win win! Thanks for your amazing recipes, they are all perfection!
