It’s easy for me to say that my husband was not my first love.

Neither were my girls.

My first love, was in fact, honey mustard 😍

Love, oh sweet love. For the last 18 years I have had it bad for this sauce.

At first, it was the version made with mayonnaise, a ton of honey and just a little mustard.

I ate it with everything.

I was 17 at the time (don’t you dare do the age math on that one:) so the diet wasn’t all that amazing, but I would probably eat anything if I could dip it into honey mustard

According to this future foodie, honey mustard was were it was at 👊🏻

Over the years, I tried dating other sauces. Ranch made a good attempt to win my heart. BBQ sauce was a summer fling. Creamy Parmesan dressing made a brief appearance.

But honey mustard was always there for me.

I got fancy with it for a couple of years in my mid-twenties – Curried Coconut Honey Mustard, Spicy Mango Mustard and even Peanut Chili Honey Mustard <—— that last one was weird, I’ll give you that.

But I always went back to just plain honey mustard.

Lately the girls have been upping their dipping game, so I knew it was time to introduce them to my first love.

But first I need to do a quick revamp on the calorie and fat situation happening with my good ol’ mayo version.

So, you guessed it, I subbed in some greek yogurt, added in a decent amount of honey and a ton of mustard. Then for fun added in some black pepper and just a pinch of sea salt.

This easy 5 ingredient honey mustard is actually full of protein and good for you!

The good thing is that you would never know how healthy it is because it still tastes like the tangy, sweet and slightly spicy honey mustard I first fell in love with.

This Healthy Honey Mustard is so good that I don’t even mind when the girls ditch their chicken and veggies and just dip their fingers straight in their bowls of sauce for a little taste.

That is what I call 😍 at first lick!!

This 5-ingredient Healthy Honey Mustard is made with greek yogurt, honey, mustard and spices and will easily become your new favorite go-to dipping sauce for the entire family!!

Ingredients 

  • 2 tbsp mustard*
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 ground black pepper

Instructions 

  • In a small bowl, whisk all ingredients until smooth.

Notes

Yield: 1/2 cup sauce
Storage: 2 weeks in airtight container in fridge
*I used yellow mustard for my honey mustard, but this recipe is just as good using grain mustard.
