Today’s star in the Getting to Know You Series is Lynn, our international traveler that has more stamps in her passport then I have on my arm after a toddler art and craft lesson. Lynn was once just a reader of the blog until she wrote me an innocent email that magically turned into me convincing her that besides doing her highly demanding job, she should write some posts for this blog focusing on global inspired baby food recipes, interviews with women from different countries and local baby food customs and traditions from around the globe. I can’t wait to read more of her posts as she travels to far and exotic destinations to bring us the scoop on the world of baby food.

Thank you Lynn for letting us into your life!

xoxo,
Michele

What do your little one(s) like to eat?

Honestly, Theo will pretty much eat anything because we’re always changing it up!  But he does have some loves: summer strawberries, mangoes, garlic-roasted chicken, and dim sum are all up there.

What is on their better-not-come-in-contact-with-my-plate list?

Avocados that are not perfectly ripe. Anything bland!

What is your go to meal when you are tight on time?

Any pre-made frozen purees with fresh yogurt.  We also throw together fresh tortellini, cooked kale, and chicken sausage for a meal the whole family can eat in no time!

On the weekend, Theo sometimes gets a sampler menu lunch at the farmer’s market where we go stall to stall – bites of fresh local cheese, fruits, and food trucks galore!

What are some of your favorite foods? Least favorite?

Favorites: Anything Taiwanese, Hyderabad biryani, a juicy ribye.

Least Favorite: Anything bland!

What is your favorite mommy beverage?

Jalapeño-infused Margarita – I can taste it now…

What are a couple things your rock at?

Packing a suitcase.  Making a delicious meal out of anybody’s fridge. Dog, cat and baby wrangling.

What are a couple things you are working on?

Hair & makeup in under 10 minutes (my husband says “yeah, right!”).  Extended durations of crawling.  Losing the muffin top.

How do you balance everything in your life?

Wait, I balance everything in my life?

What do you do in those precious hours after the kiddos go to bed?

Decide between watching a documentary or reality TV.  Husband and dog cuddles.

What are some of your family’s favorite activities?

Trips to the dog beach.  Daddy’s blueberry pancake mornings.  Entertaining family and friends with casual brunch at our house.  Laughing.  Sleeping.

What is your family’s typical routine for the day?

We start each morning quietly hoping that Theo will let us sleep in.  We pretty much lose the routine after, with the exception of knowing we can count on Theo’s two daily naps.

What is one thing you said you would never do before you had kids and now do all the time?

Clap and sing.  In public.
