My obsession with blender muffins all started when I made these Sweet Potato Mini Muffins. For one, they were beyond moist, tender and tasty. Secondly, and maybe more importantly, they were beyond easy to make.
5-minute prep + 10-minute bake + 3 minutes cool = 18 minutes and 1 dish to clean until I can share a delicious and nutritious snack with my girls!
Today, I have 3 more amazing blender muffin recipes for you!! Yes, T-H-R-E-E!
Full of fall flavor, these 3 different muffins are going to rock your (and baby’s) world! And while I am calling them fall blender muffins, let’s get real, these muffins can be made any time of year.
Pumpkin Spice
Cranberry Yogurt
Apple Cinnamon
Take your pick, they are all perfect for baby, toddler and you!
The base recipe is more or less the same – old-fashioned oats, a banana, an egg, a little maple syrup and spices. They are full of fiber, protein, potassium and other essential vitamins and minerals.
This also means they are Gluten-Free, Refined Sugar-Free and two of the muffins are even Diary-Free.
Then we get to add in the fun stuff – pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg or cranberries, yogurt and vanilla or even applesauce, apple chunks and cinnamon. A muffin to fit whichever mood you are in.
Since they are full of only wholesome ingredients, they are perfect for any baby 7+ months old. Your wee one can either gnaw on them whole or you can chop them into smaller pieces for them to practice their pincher grip and try to feed themselves.
Before we get moving on the recipes, let me just quickly recap these muffins for you, cuz I really don’t want you to miss how amazing these simple muffins really are!

Pumpkin Spice Muffins for Baby + Toddler
These mini pumpkin muffins for baby (or you!) are moist and tender with hints of warming cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Pumpkin puree is the star of these muffins and besides giving them a sweet earthy flavor, it is also packed with nutrients that help boost vision, promote sleep and are full of healthy fiber to keep baby’s tummy full and happy. The perfect muffin for baby’s breakfast or snack and for your mid-morning cup of coffee treat.
Cranberry Yogurt Muffins for Baby + Toddler
Cranberries and a pinch of fresh orange zest give these slightly sweet muffins a little zip that will wake up your little one’s taste buds! Cranberries also improve immune function and are great to eat during the colder months to help ward off sicknesses. If you are out of frozen cranberries, frozen blueberries can easily be subbed in their place.
Apple Cinnamon Muffins for Baby + Toddler
Sweet apples and robust cinnamon are a classic fall muffin combination. When we whip them up in a blender in under 5 minutes, we know life is going to be great. Just try not to eat all of them before the babes has a chance to have one:)

I am so excited about these! I have a toddler and a newborn, and I need one-handed breakfast!
Let me know how your little one likes them! My girls seriously can’t get enough. And for a special treat, I took the apple cinnamon muffin but adding in mini chocolate chips instead of the apple chunks – their minds were blown!
Up next, blender pancakes!

Michele
Can you make these recipes using mini muffin tins?
Yes definitely!

Anything to substitute for banana? I was so excited, but my son is allergic to banana!
The banana acts like the glue for the muffins, so you can try adding in 1/4 cup of applesauce or a chia seed paste. For the paste, you would let 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and 3 tablespoons of water sit in a small bowl for 5 minutes. Then add to the recipe as directed.
I haven’t tried either, so if you try either one, let me know how it works.

Do you know if anyone has tried making these with applesauce or chia seed paste? I don’t like banana so I am looking for an alternative so my son and I can share these 🙂
I have not tried making these muffins with either of those, but I would start with the applesauce. If you try this, let us know how they turn out.
I tried with half Apple sauce and half chia seeds and my daughter liked them lots. I changed the sugar for 2 dates. Next I will tried them with half chia seeds half mango. Hopefully they will be still good!
These are the best!!! They’re on heavy rotation at our house and everyone loves them (particularly the apple). And my gluten free friends go crazy for them. I can barely keep up production and I double / triple the recipe! Thank you as always. You have been my "what should I feed these little monsters" go-to from the puree days!
Wow! I am so glad your family and all your friends like this recipe! I am totally going to do a spring version of these muffins because we eat them all the time, so keep an eye open for that one.

The apple muffins are amazing and a big favorite at home. I want to try and make the cranberry muffins. Would dried cranberries work for this recipe? Have you tried?
I haven’t tried dried cranberries, but you could use frozen cranberries or blueberries no problem. If you try dried cranberries, let us know how they turn out.
Do you use red or green apples for the apple cinnamon muffins?
I usually use red apples (fuji, gala, honey crisp) in my recipes because they are sweeter, but you can use whatever you like best.

Any suggestions on what could be used instead of maple syrup?
You can use honey, coconut sugar or agave nectar as well.
You can also use swerve… it’s all natural sugar alternative that a lot of Keto/Paleo users like!

Hi there, can you suggest a substitute for eggs ?
You could try a flax egg instead. Let me know if you try it, I haven’t tested it out on this recipe yet.
Thanks,
Michele

These look awesome, thank you for sharing! Any idea if steel cut oats could be used in place of the old fashioned oats?
I haven’t tried using steel cut oats, but I bet it would work. It might need a little more liquids since they do soak up a ton of liquids. Let me know how it turns out!

We made the Pumpkin Spice Muffins and they were a total hit! The only problem is that my husband and I had a hard time saving them for our daughter. Thank you. I’m looking forward to trying the other two muffin recipes.
hahahaha! I love that your entire family loved them! I have some new mini blender muffins coming out soon!

Just made the apple and blueberry yoghurt ones and they’re are both absolutely amazing!! Sweet enough, moist and perfect size. I got 24 mini muffins per batch. I have had a really hard time finding muffin recipes for my now 9 month old. Most things out there are dry and omit everything that tastes good (eggless, flourless, gluten free, just plain tasteless). Luckily we have no allergies so I need a wholesome muffin. Thank you for the recipe. I will sure check out your other posts as well.
I am so glad you liked the muffins! I have a couple more muffin and blender muffin recipes on the site. Check them out! I am also going to post our favorite green blender muffins soon, so keep an eye out for that one.
Thanks for great baby led weaning muffins that the whole family enjoys! Made the apple cinnamon today.
So glad the entire family is enjoying these muffins!

Made the apple muffins with 1/2 cup old -fashioned oats and 1/2 cup steel cut. Added 2 extra teaspoons of applesauce (was using homemade so it was runnier than store bought) and they turned out great! I also used a regular sized muffin tin and let it bake for about 15-20 min. Moist and delicious and full of flavor. My 18 month old gobbled down 2 muffins last night (as did I, it was a long day). Thank you for the recipe, will make again!
I am so glad you both enjoyed these muffins!
And thank you for posting your substitutions, I know other readers will use them:)

hi! I love these recipes, do you think I could replace with a beet puree? It might not be sweet but would it still be moist? I might give it a go and see what happens!
Not sure, I haven’t tried it but I would love to know if you did and how it turned out.

I absolutely love these muffins! I needed to use up some pumpkin and spinach purée pouches from earths best organic, that my kids would not eat. Can’t say as I blame them! Anyway, instead of 1/4 cup of pumpkin, I just squeezed in a whole pumpkin spinach pouch which was approximately 1/3 of a cup. They gobbled them right down! I also made a batch with almond milk, (or whatever) getting it to the proper consistency for pancakes, and made pancakes out of them. Also amazing!
These sound like amazing substitutions! Anyway you can get spinach into baby is a good one in my book!

Just made the apple cinnamon muffins. My 1 year old was literally screaming when they came out of the oven and immediately (or well after they cooled down a bit) devoured 2 of them. Safe to say they’re a hit 😂
LOVE this! Okay not the screaming at you.. but the rest of it;)

Any substitute for the eggs coz my baby has eczema.
You can use a flax egg or any other egg substitute.
I just want to know if we can use dry cranberries instant of frozen ones ?
Would these recipes work without the maple syrup?
Yes, but the muffins would just be very plain.
My 7 month old loves the pumpkin spice ones! However all I could really taste is banan. Is there a way to add more pumpkin flavor? Also for the cranberry muffins, could you use dried cranberries? Thank you for these recipes!
Is there a reason you have to add the baking soda and powder after blending on high? I accidentally added everything including the baking soda and powder all at once and blended for 3 minutes, will there be a difference?
They should turn out fine. I have found that by adding the soda and powder in for just a quick blitz at the end makes them a little fluffier.
Hi 👋🏻 made the apple cinnamon muffins with a mind-blowing modification straight from your cookbook— your Apple + Cinnamon baby food recipe—- and O-M-G!!!I I used the cinnamon apples to replace both the applesauce AND the additional chopped apples at the end (but I mashed instead of chopped them since they were already softened). Amaaaaaziiinnnnnggggg!!!!!
I also took your advice on one of your comments and mixed in mini chocolate chips instead of the mixed in apples at the end. Wow!! Chocolate heaven!!!
Both phenomenal and great for any occasion!!!! THANKS!!! Your recipes are all so amazing, healthy, and simple!!!!!
can you use dried cranberries instead of frozen?
I haven’t tried using dried cranberries, but I think they would be fine in these muffins.
Hello, Can I make these in a regular size cupcake pan? Do you know the cooking time? Thank you!
Totally! I would bake for 18-20 minutes in a regular pan.
Love the content on this blog but way too many ads which unfortunately make it less user friendly and efficient & way too many words- you have to scroll, scroll, scroll through words upon words, stories and fluff to get the the recipes and ingredients. Blogs should be quick and to the point- Tired & busy Mom here who doesn’t have time to read about inspirations, trial and errors, babies other then my own etc.
I get you’re building a brand and kudos to your following but need a modern to the point bloc. But great recipes and resource for baby and toddler food so I do keep coming back.
I am updating all of my posts (most of them have it already) that will have a JUMP TO RECIPE button on the top of every post, so no more scrolling if you don’t want to.
Hi – I have a ton of baby cereal (it’s a mix of grains ground very fine) left over. Could I substitute that for the oats? How much would I need of the baby cereal compared to oats? Thank you!
I haven’t tried using baby cereal in these muffins. I would maybe start with half of the amount of oats in the recipe and add from there until you get the right consistency.
Love your recipes and love the idea of blender muffins. So healthy, quick, easy and so few dishes!! I’ve made each of these recipes 5+ times. Definitely recommend doubling if you want some for a freezer stash or if adults are eating them too because they go fast! The only thing my family doesn’t like about these recipes is the amount of baking soda has an unpleasant taste! I use 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and the muffins are still perfectly formed. I’ve noticed other blender muffin recipes don’t have baking soda but 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. I might try that next time. Definitely a well used set of recipes in our house and perfect for little hands! Thank you!
I’ve made these so many times and haven’t noticed an unpleasant taste with the baking soda, but maybe I am using an old box or something. Let me grab a fresh box of baking soda and retest them this week. Thanks for your feedback.
Could you use wholewheat flour instead of oats?
I haven’t tried it, but I think it is worth a shot.
These are great! I don’t normally comment on recipes but these are something both my 11 month and 5 year old enjoy! The only change I make is using a full snack pack of apple sauce and omitting the maple syrup. Thank you!
Love this modification! Glad they both like them:)
These look amazing however our son is allergic to eggs, do you know of a way we could do it egg free? Some kind of egg alternative?
I’ve tried making these with the flax ‘egg’ and it works great. Have you used a flax egg before?
Can I skip the maple syrup?
You can, but the muffins will be denser and not sweet. Baby will probably love them, not sure about toddler.
Is maple syrup safe for babies under 1?
In this small quantity, yes.
My daughter spilled in a little extra apple sauce in the apple muffins and it made them even softer and more delicious, if that’s possible! We love these muffins and make them all the time. From now on we’ll be generous with the apple sauce!
I love that she put her own twist on it! ❤️ Happy to hear these are a regular at your house!
Will this recipe work if i don’t put the chopped apple? I made lots of homemade applesauce today and don’t have extra apples. I figure the additional apple will release liquid but not sure if it will work the same without it. Please let me know if I can omit or do I need to substitute it for something else?
You can omit the chopped apples and they will still be amazing!
How am I to print these recipes… not seeing an option for that. Thank you! Love the apple muffins, super easy and quick.
All I can taste is baking soda!! I am going to make another batch but halve the baking soda to see if that helps.
I just made another batch, and only used 1/2 tsp baking soda and they were perfect. Thanks for the suggestion. Updated recipe cards.
Would fresh cranberries work?
Yes, you may want to chop them up a little bit so they aren’t so big.
Hi what can I sub for the oats. My daughter is allergic. Thank you
I haven’t tried another flour with this recipe, but you could try using white whole wheat or all-purpose flour instead.
I made these and my toddler and husband love them. I do too! Awesome recipe! I doubled the recipe and made reg sized muffins!
So glad both toddler and hubby loved them! Great idea to double the recipe and make them bigger:)
Hi,
Would these not turn out really dense. I’ve made blender muffins before and they don’t rise/fluff up and get really really dense. I really want to try this but don’t want to be left with heavy, hard and dense muffins. Do let me know.
They turned out really soft and tender for me (see photos). You may be over mixing them in your blender. I usually say 1-2 minutes of blending the oats in the blender and that its. Just like regular muffins, you don’t want to overmix these blender muffins either.
I’m surprised my daughter even had any of these to try because we couldn’t stop eating them when I made them. They are SO easy to make and delicious! They keep well in the fridge and they were perfect for travel this summer.
haha.. I love this! Sounds like you need to make a double batch next time:)
I made the pumpkin and the apple cinnamon and they both tasted really good but they didn’t rise very much at all. I followed the directions exactly. So they ended up being more dense than fluffy but still good.
Thanks for your comments. Because we are not adding any refined sugar, they do tend to be on the denser side, but mine always have some rise in them. I’ll make another batch tonight to test them out.
Hi there
I followed the recepie the only chamge I made was I only added 1.5 spoons of maple syrup…baked for 12 mins but I found my muffins flat and a bit stodgy inside… my daughter still loved them but they aren’t crumbie (sorry not a word) they are more like wet texture…I did let them cool in the pan maybe that’s the issue?
We’re still eating them as the texture is Good for a 7 month old but will definitely try again
Thanks.
looking forward to trying these muffins, they sound delicious!
Let me know how they turn out for you.
Can you completely omit the maple syrup? I don’t really want to give my 1 year old added sugars of any sort besides the natural sugars that come from fruits and veggies.
I would replace the maple syrup with applesauce or mashed a very ripe banana. Hope that helps.
These are so perfect for baby lead weaning, my son is thoroughly enjoying the apple cinnamon muffins. Amazing texture and clean ingredients. Will be trying the cranberry yogurt next, but using blueberries. Thanks for the great recipes!
So glad your little one is enjoying these! Adding blueberries is a great idea!
Love these!!!! Absolutely life saver and throw it all in my vitamix and so many variations I make for my son. But I must be missing something cause my oven definitely does not have then baked in 8-10min. They are always still raw. I do usually 18 minutes. Surprise I’m the only one 🤔
So glad to hear how big of hit these are for you! I just made a batch and they were done 12 minutes, so maybe it’s our ovens? Or possibly the size we are cooking them.
Thanks for the recipes! Just wondering if I can use oat flour instead of blended old fashioned oats? Thanks!
I haven’t tried it, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for these muffins. If you try it, let us know how they turn out. Thanks!
Best muffins ever, I make these all the time and cycle through the different flavors, great for kids and adults! I’ll add a touch of wheat germ and some pecans and it works great.
So happy to hear that you love these muffins! I love your additions!
Hi I’ve made these a thousand times for my toddler but now I’m making them for my baby who is under a year old. I don’t want her to ingest salt so would it affect the muffins if i omit salt ?
You can omit the salt. They may taste a little different than the original version your toddler is used to, but they will work.
Amazing recipe, and oh so easy! I ended up eating more than one tonight , yum!
Your secret is safe with me! 🤣 I have a hard time stopping at one too!
Hi there!
These are great I always made for my son when he was younger.
My daughter (almost 1) is allergic to oats. Could I substitute with flour?
Thank you!
Hi D! Yes you can absolutely sub flour for the oats. It’s a 1:1 substitute. xo, Michele
Do you know if I could use plain regular yogurt for the cranberry recipe instead of Greek yogurt? Can’t wait to try them!
Sure! Let me know how it turns out! =) xo, Michele
