Apple, Green Beans and Broccoli Baby Food Puree

Happy Friday Mamas!! I was so proud of myself that I had finished all my christmas shopping, had all the presents wrapped [except of course the presents from Santa, in this house Santa doesn’t have time to wrap his gifts, slacker] and 3 batches of christmas cookies made and only semi-eaten. I felt for once that I was on top of it this season. Theennnnn, I realized Christmas was less then a week away. Oh man, did that ever kill my buzz!! Of course I should be almost ready for Christmas, it is almost here!

For this Fast Baby FoodE Friday recipe, I decided to make you something that was not only super fast to make but also a fun festive green color! 

How perfect would this lovely green puree be for your little one for Christmas dinner? Paired with this Cranberry + Pear Puree and you will have a holiday meal worthy of your little baby foodie. Not to mention how impressed your in-laws and extended family will be with your amazingly awesome baby food making skills!! 

Which will make you want to gloat, but only a little.

This healthy homemade stage two baby food puree comes together in just minutes, is packed with vitamins, and and perfect for babies aged 6 months and up.

Ingredients 

  • 2 apples peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup green beans roughly chopped

Instructions 

  • Bring 2 inche of water to boil in a medium saucepan. Place apples, green beans and broccoli into steamer pot over boiling water, cover and cook for 10 minutes or until all vegetables are easily pricked with a fork. Let cool slightly. Reserve steamer water.
  • Transfer all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and puree for 1-2 minutes until you reach your desired consistency, adding water from your steamer pot in 1/4 cup increments if needed.

Notes

Age: 6+ months
Yield: Makes roughly 15 ounces.
Storage: Fridge – store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Freezer – can be frozen for up to 4 months (this and this are my favorite freezer storage containers).
