Strawberry Salsa
This simple 5-ingredient Strawberry Salsa will be a huge hit for all of your summer get-to-togethers for both the parents and kids!!
Let’s be honest, I am going to bring this 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻Strawberry Salsa and a big bowl of chips to every get-to-together that I go to this summer!
That is, if I can restrain myself and hide the bowl of salsa from the girls so we don’t all end up eating the entire bowl before we even leave the house.
We cannot-get-enough of this salsa!
I’m pretty sure if I served this strawberry salsa for dinner with a big spoon and nothing else, the girls would be perfectly happy.
So Rachel, if you are reading this, I call dibs on this dish for all of our Playhour to Happyhour kid parties 😜
But feel free to bring this Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita or this Strawberry Pomegranate Sangria!!
Wait, too much strawberry food at a party?? Ummm.. never!
This simple Strawberry Salsa has only 5-ingredients (most of which you probably have in your fridge right now) and it showcases my current food crush – STRAWBERRIES.
Ahhhh Strawberries.. I can’t get enough of these juicy, ripe and so sweet berries.
I love them so much right now, it might actually be a problem.
Food obsessions can be tough!
But besides buying strawberries by the flat for this salsa, I am also overdosing on Strawberry Applesauce, Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothies and Strawberry Yogurt Parfaits.
I am already dreaming about roasting a giant pan full of strawberries with a drizzle of honey and a pinch of cinnamon and turning it into ice cream, popsicles or maybe even a thick sweet syrup that I can drizzle on top of ice cream 😋, all of which will be kid friendly. This is a kids blog after all!
To make this super simple strawberry salsa, you are going to have to do two things first.
1) have a frosty summer beverage already made and on the kitchen counter next to you.
2) have some crispy salty chips ready for some dipping, cuz this salsa waits for no mom.
Then, we simply chop the crap out of a pound of strawberries (that is one normal size carton of strawberries, in case you don’t want to get out the scale).
Then we add in some chopped red onion, a minced clove of garlic for some kick, a big handful of chopped cilantro (bonus points if it is from your garden) and then we squeeze a little lime juice over everything.
The lime juice is key.
The lime juice helps everything stay nice and fresh, but also since we are not going to add any spicy elements (jalapeño peppers, hot sauce, roasted peppers, etc) to this salsa, the lime juice gives the salsa the zing it needs to be a salsa and just a bowl of chopped fruit.
That’s it!
5 minutes until you are in strawberry salsa heaven!

Have you tried this with frozen strawberries?
I have not. But I think they would work if you defrost them and then drain any excess juice.
Is this recipe ok for babies under 1? I was thinking of mixing this with scrambled eggs for my 9 month old.
That sounds like a fun combo! I think if you cut the strawberries into ‘pea’ size pieces you should be fine.
