This intensely colored Banana, Cherry + Beet Baby Food recipe takes less than 10 minutes to make and is so delicious your baby is going to love it! It definitely needs to be in your baby's mouth/face/hair right now! Great Stage Two Puree.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium bananas
  • 2/3 cup cherries fresh or frozen, pitted
  • 1/4 cup red beets peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil. Place beets into a steamer basket and put over the boiling water, cover and steam for 7 minutes or until tender with a fork.
  • If using frozen cherries (fresh cherries can be added during blending) add them on top of the beets, cover and steam for another 3 minutes. Let cool slightly. Reserver steamer water.
  • Place the beets, cherries, bananas and lemon juice into a blender or food processor and puree for 1-2 minutes on high or until completely smooth. You may need to add in some additional reserved water to thin it out, if so start by adding in 1 tablespoon of water in at a time or until you reach your desired consistency. I did not add any additional water to my puree.
