Made with just four ingredients - banana, pear, ginger and formula or breast milk - this recipe is as fast and easy as it gets!

Ingredients

  • 2 pears
  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 - 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, minced (see notes)
  • 1/4 cup reserved water, breast milk or formula

Instructions

  • Core and chop the pears, peeling is optional. Peel the banana.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil over medium heat. Place the pears and banana into a steamer basket and steam for 5 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  • Add the pears, banana and ginger to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth, adding 1/4 cup of reserved water or liquid if needed.
  • Place in air-tight container and refrigerate or freeze immediately. This will help with discoloring.

Notes

Yield: 14 ounces
Age: 6+ months
Notes on Ginger: Ginger gets pretty sharp pretty fast, so you can always start with 1/4 teaspoon and add more if needed. I went with 1/2 teaspoon and it was perfect for my tastes.
Storage: Fridge – store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Freezer – can be frozen for up to 4 months (this and this are my favorite freezer storage containers).
