Spinach + Apple Baby Food Puree

This Spinach and Apple Baby Food Puree is high in iron and a perfect baby food puree to introduce around 6 months. With the addition of cinnamon, ginger, and cloves, this stage two combination puree tastes amazing!

  • 6 apples peeled, cored and chopped
  • 2 cups fresh spinach packed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves


  • In a medium saucepan, add the apples, water, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 15 minutes or until apples are tender when pricked with a fork, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the spinach on top of the apples and cook for 2 more minutes. Let cool slightly.
  • Add all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and puree for 1-2 minutes or until completely smooth. Serve and enjoy.


Age: 6 months and up. For older toddlers and kids, spoon puree into reusable pouches and serve as a quick snack on-the-go.
Yield: roughly 25 ounces
Storage: Fridge – store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Freezer – can be frozen for up to 4 months (this and this are my favorite freezer storage containers).
