Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain whole milk yogurt
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (or 1/8 tsp nutmeg)
  • 2-3 tbsp maple syrup, optional and if needed
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice, optional

A cutting board with bananas, cinnamon and maple syrup with a fork sitting next to it.
  • With the back of a fork, mash until you get your desired consistency. For a smoother puree, you can add the bananas to a blender and puree for 60 secones.
A hand mashing banana, maple syrup and nutmeg to mix into yogurt.
  • Swirl in the banana puree into the yogurt, serve and enjoy!

Notes

Age: 6+ months (minus the maple syrup until 1+ years)
Storage: this banana yogurt can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. You can freeze the apple puree for up to 4 months. Then you can defrost and add it to yogurt whenever you wish to serve this recipe.
Banana Tip: try to use really ripe bananas with lots of brown spots as ripe bananas are naturally sweeter and will help balance the tartness of plain yogurt.
Toppings: While this yogurt is amazing by itself, toppings and yogurt are always a good idea. Here are some of our favorite toppings to add:
  • hemp seeds
  • granola
  • drizzle of peanut or nut butter
  • drizzle of honey (over 1 year of age)
  • chopped berries, strawberries or blueberries
  • sliced bananas
  • sprinkle of ground flax seeds
  • shredded coconut flakes
