This Green Mint Chocolate Smoothie is filled with healthy whole foods such as a banana, spinach, chia seeds and spiced up with a little mint and a few chocolate chunks. Makes for a perfect afternoon snack for the kids or a beyond yummy on-the-go breakfast!
1scoopvanilla protein powderor 1 additional banana (see notes)
2-3cupsice
2tbspdark chocolate chipsor carob chips

Instructions
Place the banana, spinach, almond milk, mint, chia seeds, protein powder or additional banana and ice in a blender and run at high speed for 60-90 seconds.
Add in chocolate chips, pulse until they are in small pieces.
Serve and enjoy.
Notes
Protein Powder/Banana: this smoothie needs to be thickened up a little bit so I usually go with a scoop of protein powder, but you can also add an additional banana to the recipe. If using an extra banana, I would also recommend using 1 tablespoon of honey to sweeten it up.Protein Powder Recommendation: I love this brand of protein powder because it is organic, soy free, dairy free and non-gmo but it also tastes great and my girls love it. I usually don't add protein powder into their smoothies but every once in awhile it a good thing to add in for a little extra protein, especially if we haven't been eating the healthiest that week. You can start introducing protein powder into kid's smoothies around 18-24 months of age.
