You’ve Gone Nuts Granola is a breakfast winner! If you love granola but don't love all the preservatives and sugar, you won't believe how easy it is to make your own at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup pistachios, hulled and coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, hulled
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup cashew pieces
  • 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup flax seeds
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup organic olive oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt or any good quality salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 300° F. Spray baking sheet (one sheet per batch) with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine oats, pistachios, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds, flax seeds, maple syrup, olive oil, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Mix until everything is nice and coated.
  • Place ingredients on the baking sheet in an even layer and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes and rotating the baking sheet.
  • Take the granola out of the oven and let cool. If you want a chunky granola do not stir after taking out of the oven.
  • Serving Tip: If using dried fruit, make sure to add it after you have baked and let cool the granola. This will ensure that the fruit stays nice and soft.

Notes
