5 stars (10 ratings)
This intensely colored Banana, Cherry and Beet Baby Food Puree is full of fiber, potassium, antioxidants and a vast amount of other essential vitamins and minerals for baby.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium bananas
  • 2/3 cup cherries fresh or frozen, pitted
  • 1/4 cup red beets peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil. Place beets into a steamer basket and put over the boiling water, cover and steam for 7 minutes or until tender with a fork.
  • If using frozen cherries (fresh cherries can be added during blending) add them on top of the beets, cover and steam for another 3 minutes. Let cool slightly. Reserver steamer water.
  • Place the beets, cherries, bananas and lemon juice into a blender or food processor and puree for 1-2 minutes on high or until completely smooth. You may need to add in some additional reserved water to thin it out, if so start by adding in 1 tablespoon of water in at a time or until you reach your desired consistency. I did not add any additional water to my puree.
