Get the recipe: Super Greens + Prunes Baby Food Puree

This puree is full of nutrient dense super greens that have high levels of fiber, vitamin C and iron which aid in detoxification and help to strengthen the immune system and dried prunes that help with digestion.

Ingredients 

  • 2 pears, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 1 cups baby super greens you can also use Kale, Spinach or Chard
  • 1/4 cup dried prunes
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions 

  • In a medium saucepan, add in the pears and ,cover and heat on medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occassionaly.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl cover the dried prunes with hot water and let soak for 10 minutes.
  • Add the greens on top of the pears, cover and cook for 3 additonal minutes.
  • Place the cooked pears, greens and drained prunes into a blender or food processor. Blend for 1-2 minutes or until completely smooth, adding in additional water in tbsp increments at a time if needed.

Notes

Age: 6+ months
Yield: makes roughly 20 ounces
Storage: Fridge – store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Freezer – can be frozen for up to 4 months (this and this are my favorite freezer storage containers).
