Hello! I love your site! Thank you for so many inspirations for baby food!
I had a question about this puree, I always strain it through a sifter because of the pea skins. How does yours look so smooth without sifting???
Thank you!
No sifting required. I do use a good quality blender (either a vitamix or blendtec) and I add enough water to really get the food going, but not too much it turns watery. I only use the peas and not the pods, if that is the problem. Hope that helps!

I made this today and my 9 month old loved it. I gave it to her for lunch and dinner. Once warm and once cold, she ate it up either way! So glad I came across your site!…. If I wanted to make more would I just double or triple all the ingredients? Or do you have a specific way of making bigger batches of your recipes? I use the baby bullet so this made 4 and a half servings. Thanks and enjoy your vacation!
Hello Janicke,
SO glad your little one loved it!!! Makes me so happy!!! Yes, if you want to make more, just double the recipe so you can freeze some for another meal!!! When making in bulk I usually just toss roughly the amounts listed on the recipe depending on how much I have on hand (Instead of 6 exact cups of peas I would just add 2 bags of peas) if that makes sense.

Another question Michelle.. How do you feel about freezing previously frozen veggies? For example I have a huge bag of frozen peas in my freezer, if I make a large batch of this recipe I will be refreezing the peas. Some websites/books say not do do this but the thing is that fresh peas are not easy for me to find. Thanks again!
Hello Janicke,
I am totally fine with it. Especially for peas!! But also anytime fresh fruit and vegetables are not in season, frozen is such a great option to be able to provide baby with yummy baby food. Plus, organic frozen produce is only slightly more expensive then frozen conventional produce, so it makes organic so much more affordable!! Have at it girl!!

if you defrost and then cook the product is fine, but you shod not defrost and the refreeze uncooked product or defrost and refreeze cooked product.
Cheers
Moira
I will have to disagree with you on this one. I have made purees with frozen produce and then frozen it and had great results. In fact, I love using frozen food for purees especially in the winter when finding fresh fruit and veggies is sometimes difficult and expensive.
Michele
Agreed-ok to refreeze as long as your prep area is clean and you use good quality containers.

First of all, I’ve been in the kitchen since I found your blog. I love it!
Second, could I use frozen spinach for this, and should I let it thaw a bit first to get the proper packed quantity?
So glad you are here!!
Yes, you can totally use frozen spinach! And yes, thaw before using.

I was trying so hard to feed my boy peas because of their yummy goodness! But he kept gagging. This recipe is awesome! He actually eats his full portion every time! Thanks for sharing this!
