I consider myself fortunate to be part of a mommy group where we have more then just our little kiddos in common, we have become good friends over the last two years that we have known each other. Our friendship started in a 12 week long natural childbirth class and after we all serviced both the class and labor, there was really no going back, we were destined to be friends. We generally get together at least once or twice a month and talk about our crazy kids, husband and lives, cry when things are just too much, laugh at ourselves and each other and of course have cocktails and eat lots of yummy food. These women have helped me keep my sanity with all the new challenges of becoming a new mom. They have made me a more confident and thoughtful mom and have been my support system throughout all the new things we have all gone through together.

But this story isn’t really about my amazing mommy friends. It’s about one of their husbands.

Geez, it’s not like that. It’s not going to be what you think.

When I found out that one of the daddies in the group was a programmer, I knew I had to have him help me with some major issues I was having with this site, see nothing scandalous at all.  Issues that I just ignored for a couple of months because well…I’m just not tech savvy enough to even know where to begin with them. I’m talking about my recipe pages, what good is a recipe page if it can’t even link to the recipes. It was clunky and took so much time for something that was not even worth it. It needed help, lots and lots of help.

So, I somehow conned him into helping me with my site by making them a dinner. I still think I got the better end of this stick.

Within twenty minutes, he had fixed my site and guided me in what I needed to do to get my recipe pages up and running.

So take a peak at the newly designed recipe pages. They are [mostly] done and I would love to know what you think. Hopefully it will be easier to find more delicious recipes to make for your little kiddo.

On a side note, if you find that you are looking to join a mommy group in your area but don’t know where to start, here are some suggestions.

meetup.com – they have a ton in my area and are organized by area and age
http://mommeetmom.com
http://www.raisingthem.com
http://www.cafemom.com
search mommy group and then your city
local yoga studies that have pre-natal yoga classes
your local hospital or doctors office will sometimes have local group information

Having joined several groups, I would recommend that the best way to find one that you click with is join and couple different groups and go for a couple of weeks to each of them before deciding if the group is right for you.

Dried Apricots + Banana + Coriander

1 ripe Organic Banana
5 Organic Dried Apricots
1 big pinch Coriander

Soak apricots in very hot or boiling water for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, place banana and coriander in blender or food processor. When apricots are done soaking, add to bananas and blend in pulses until the apricots get nice and chunky. This will be a chunky puree.

Serve to your little one right away or within a day. This will not store because of the banana.
